INDEPENDENCE, Mo – July 12, 2023 – PRLog – Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care (MPHC)  has promoted Erik Johnson to Executive Director, effective July 15, 2023. Johnson, who previously served as the Community Relations Director, contributes a wealth of experience in the medical sector, with thirteen years in medical equipment sales, marketing, and management.

Prior to joining MPHC, Johnson held a sales management position in the rapidly growing field of neuromodulation. In that role, he increased awareness and access to life-changing medical procedures for thousands of patients with brain disorders.

In his new capacity as Executive Director, Johnson will guide MPHC in its mission to deliver exceptional care and education to patients, caregivers, and communities. He will work closely with the community relations team to identify and develop potential referral sources, foster relationships with healthcare providers, educate about the benefits of palliative and hospice care, and ensure the delivery of quality information to Interdisciplinary Care Teams (IDT).

Outgoing Executive Director, Beth Aguirre, LSCSW, LCSW, said, “I am excited to have Erik advance to this position. His demonstrated leadership will enhance growth and continue the mission of our company.”

Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in management and human relations from MidAmerica Nazarene University. He is currently working toward a Master of Science in Management with an emphasis on healthcare administration and human resources management.

Remarking on his promotion, Johnson said, “I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to lead MPHC, serving all people and providing the care they need and deserve. It all starts with our people and wow do we have the best. Transforming community through selfless acts of kindness and service is what our patients deserve; what we all deserve. I am beyond humbled and grateful to be a part of this wonderful organization. Through awareness and education, we always strive for excellence, and to be just a little bit better each day.” said Johnson.

“We are honored to promote Erik as he has exhibited substantial dedication to our mission of delivering outstanding care and education to our patients, caregivers, and communities. I am confident in his continuance as an impressive and inspiring leader for the MPHC team,” said Phillip Hill, Chief Executive Officer.
